Distinguished Service Award Winner!
Last month, The Veterans Consortium Pro Bono Program was named as the Veteran Service Organization of the Year (>$1M budget) by the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce’s annual Distinguished Service Awards.
This recognition is huge honor that shines light on the dedication of our incredible staff, volunteers, and mission partners who work tirelessly to ensure each Veteran client receives the care, benefits, and justice that they have earned.
Thank You for Hosting Us, Gibson Dunn!
On September 16, our U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims (CAVC) Practice Group held a hybrid Rule 33 Panel Discussion in partnership with Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP over at their DC headquarters.
This panel discussion was a unique opportunity to learn about the Rule 33 Conference firsthand from CAVC mediators that conduct and mediate the conferences, Office of General Counsel that advocates on behalf of the VA, and the Volunteer attorneys that represent the client on a pro bono basis.
The panel featured Rule 33 Conference experts:
- Gina D’Amico, Esq., The Veterans Consortium
- Anita Koepcke, Esq., Department of Veterans Affairs
- Marquan Robertson, Esq., Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP
- Amy Roth-Pixton, Esq., U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims
Thank you to our moderator and panelists for lending their expertise and differing perspectives to curate a mindful and engaging discussion. And a BIG THANK YOU to Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP for your continued partnership and support of our mission.

The event features 28 teams with two law students apiece, arguing challenging Veterans Law issues before panels of distinguished practitioners and judges. On November 9, finalists will go head-to-head in the CAVC courtroom before sitting judges!
