The Veterans Consortium Pro Bono Program is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt, non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible.
Since 1992 the staff and Board of The Veterans Consortium Pro Bono Program have pursued the Program’s mission of providing an attorney, absolutely free of charge, to any veteran or survivor with a legally credible VA benefits claim who has sought review of a Board of Veterans’ Appeals (BVA) decision in the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. To achieve this goal, the Program evaluates the BVA decisions and refers those cases with viable issues to the volunteer lawyers who have been recruited and trained by the Program.
The Program’s efforts, energetically conducted with a sense of responsibility toward America’s veterans by the Program’s dedicated staff, have resulted in decisions by the Court which in turn have resulted in the well deserved receipt of millions of dollars in benefits by veterans or their spouses. But the costs of this mission are not inexpensive, and although the Program receives appropriated funding, your contributions will allow us enhance and expand our assistance to those veterans in need of counsel and perhaps a more direct helping hand. Your donations will allow the Program to provide that broader range of support and reach more veterans even more effectively.
Indeed, of between 36 and 40,000 decisions handed down by the Board of Veterans’ Appeals in each the last two years, only about 10 percent have been appealed to the Court. Your donation will help us reach many of those veterans who would otherwise allow the BVA’s denial of their VA claim to be the final, and unfair, act, and to provide more assistance to those veterans and their Program lawyers who continue to seek a just result in their quests for the benefits they so dearly earned. |
